Entrance Doors

Komar Stroy supplies and installs European entrance door systems across New Jersey, New York City, Connecticut, with supply and delivery to Massachusetts. The entrance door is the one component of the envelope that every visitor touches, and it has to satisfy three demands at once: security, thermal performance, and appearance.

Construction

European entrance doors are built as insulated slabs rather than as a frame with infill panels. The leaf is thicker than a standard North American door and carries insulation through its full thickness, which is why the thermal numbers are so much better than a typical residential entry.

Thermally broken aluminium is the usual specification for contemporary work, taking custom RAL and anodised finishes and carrying large single leaves without distortion. uPVC systems are available where budget leads the decision.

Security

Multi-point locking is standard, with locking points engaging around the full perimeter of the leaf rather than at a single latch. Combined with a reinforced frame and security hinges, this is a substantially harder target than a conventional single-deadbolt entry.

Glazing in the leaf or in sidelights can be specified laminated for security. Electronic access is available where a project calls for keypad, fob, or smart lock hardware, coordinated with the low-voltage contractor.

Design Options

Leaves can be specified flush, grooved, or with applied stainless appliques. Sidelights and transoms integrate into the frame to fill a wider or taller structural opening. Finishes can differ inside and out, so a door can read dark and contemporary from the street while matching interior joinery inside.

Pivot configurations are available for oversized leaves where a conventional hinge set would not carry the weight, and they produce a distinctly architectural entry.

Thresholds and Access

Thresholds can be flush for barrier-free access or raised where exposure requires it. On exposed entries we detail the canopy and drainage interface rather than relying on the door seal alone.

What We Handle

Field measurement, shop drawings, factory ordering, delivery, and installation by our own crews, with proper flashing, air sealing, and interior finish coordination. Entrance doors are heavy and unforgiving of a racked opening, so the frame is set plumb and square before the leaf is hung, and hardware is adjusted at handover.
